Five people who have influenced me are:
Mildred Melton, who is my mother. She has always been my number one support just by raising me and giving me good moral standards. Everything I have always wanted to do in life whether it was good or bad, she was there beside me to cheer me on. Even now, at the age of 27, my mother is still here pushing me to follow my dreams in becoming the best teacher that I can be.
Tracey England, my godmother. I always wanted to be just like her. I have watched her become a RN nurse for over 12 years and she enjoys every moment of her job. Thats why I wanted to become a teacher. I have a passion to teach and I love children. She always told me to make sure I chose a career that I would enjoy for the rest of my life.
Joseph Coleman, my pastor. Pastor Coleman gave me good advice when I went off to college. He wanted to make sure that I didnt stray away from my christian beliefs and to always keep prayer in my life. I still keep in contact with him and he continues to tell me that prayer changes things. Even when things started to get to much for me at college, I did exactly what he told me to do and everything turned out to be just fine.
Dorothy Adams, my 12th grade JAG teacher. Mrs. Adams was all about professionalism. She instilled so much of that in me that when I graduated from high school, I felt like I could go to any interview determined to get a job. She never wanted any of her students to just settlle for anything and the majority our student class went off to college because of her. I dont see her much but I will never forget everything that she taught me.
Jim Cain, my college professor. If you wanted to put fun in any kind of lesson plan, he was the guy to go to. He always had a smile on and he wore it well. I dont think he knew what bad days were. Dr. Cain told us to always keep fun in the classroom. When your students are excited about learning you will be excited to teach and you will never have a bad day. I have been trying to keep that thought with me because I want my students to remember me as the teacher who supported them and influenced them to have leadership.
